
Jazz up an old lampshade by wrapping it in swathes of lavish silver organza, it will catch the daylight and look even more stunning when the lamp is lit.
You Will Need
- 1 m of 140 cm wide metallic organza
- 24 cm high by 20 cm wide conical lampshade
- All purpose houshold glue
- Fod organza in half. Lay it diagonally over front of lampshade. Pin fabric at random in pleats, securing it to lampshade with more pins at you work. Continue all around lampshade.
- Catch the pleats to the shade with a few hand stitches. It is not necessary to sew all the pleats as the stiffness of the fabric will the shape
- Where the fabric meets at the back of the lampshade, pin the edges togethe in pleats. Cut off the excess fabric 3 cm above and below the lampshade, and beyond the pinned edges using a pair of pinking shears
- Remove the pins, turn under edges of fabric running down the back, then slipstitch together. Glue the excess fabric to the inside of the upper and lower edges of the lampshade.
